Henry County Fair Queen Crowned 2011 Miss Illinois County Fair Jackie Driscoll crowned Miss Illinois County Fair Queen

Springfield ,ILó Jackie Driscoll, Miss Henry County Fair Queen, of Cambridge was crowned by the retiring 2010 Queen Haley Freeman. She is majoring in history for secondary education at Monmouth College. Her parents are Mike and Laurie Driscoll and Jamie and Gene Lang.

In the history of the Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant this is the first time that a state queen comes from Henry County. This yearís competition had 66 queens vying for the title.

2011 Fair QueenMiss Warren County Fair, Marcela Gillen, of Monmouth was named first runner-up. The judges selected Miss Williamson County Fair, Emily Travis, from Belknap as second runner-up.

Other top finalists ( in no particular order) were: Miss Macon County Fair, Brittany Childress; Miss Christian County Fair, Alicia Schneider; Miss Iroquois County Fair, Patricia Edris; Miss Effingham County Fair, Christin Hartke; Miss McHenry County Fair, Mary Ellen Walter; Miss Champaign County Fair, Ainsley Reiser; Miss Sangamon County Fair, Katy Duewer; Miss Mercer County Fair, Briley Lloyd; and Miss Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, Shelby Greger.

Non-finalist competition awards were presented to Miss White County Fair, Tailor Frymire from Carmi, for best non-finalist in interview competition; Miss Macoupin County Fair, Megan Broom from Carlinville, for best non-finalist in Communication Skills Competition; Miss Greene County Fair, Alexandra Flatt from Carrollton, for best non-finalist in Stage Presence Competition; and for best non-finalist in Beauty and Physique Miss Schuyler County Fair, Mallory Ervin from Rushville.

The Ruby Crum Memorial Award for charm and enthusiasm is presented as the Spark Plug Award. Miss Farmer City/DeWitt County Fair Queen, Cecilee Rhea, of Farmer City was bestowed the 2011 Spark Plug Award.

The Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant was held over the weekend as part of the annual convention of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.

The 2011 Illinois State Fair runs August 12-21, 2011 in Springfield and the DuQuoin State Fair runs August 26th through September 5, 2011.
