Sadie Gassmann was Crowned 2015 Miss
Illinois County Fair

Richland County Fair Queen crowned Miss Illinois County Fair Queen.
Springfield, IL —Sadie Gassmann, Miss Richland County Fair, was crowned by retiring Queen Summer Robbins. Gassmann is majoring in Elementary Education at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She is the daughter of Gwen Gassmann and the late Chris Gassmann of Olney.
Brianna Klein was the First Runner-up. She is the Miss Morgan County Fair and daughter of Kevin and Jamie Klein of Murrayville.
Miss Henry County Fair Queen, Maggie Schlindwein was second runner-up. She is the daughter of Jack and Carrie Schlindwein of Geneseo.
Miss Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, Maria Meyer was named third runner-up. Her parents are Dan and Dena Meyer of Tuscola.
Miss Clinton County Fair, Meredith Timmons of Albers was named fourth runner-up. She is the daughter of Hobie and Carolyn Timmons.
Non-finalist competition awards were presented to Miss Pana-Tri County Fair Queen, Abigail Burgener for best non-finalist in Personal Interview competition; Miss Farmer City/DeWitt County Fair Queen, Lauren Skarupa for best non-finalist in Communication Skills; Miss Jersey County Fair Queen, Lauren Kight for best non-finalist Stage Presence competition; and for best non-finalist Beauty and Physique competition Miss Marshall-Putnam County Fair, Elizabeth Rice.
The Ruby Crum Memorial Award for charm and enthusiasm known as the “Spark Plug Award” was presented to Miss Perry County Fair Queen, Melaina Harsy of DuQuoin.
Other top fifteen finalists were: Miss Coles County Fair, Lacey Jo Solomon of Mattoon; Miss Iroquois County Fair, Brittany Fischer of Watseka; Miss Perry County Fair, Melaina Harsy of Duquoin; Miss Clay County Fair, Tia Rinehart from Louisville; Miss Marion County Fair, Morgan Belcher of Patoka; Miss Stark County Fair, Emily Pasker of Wyoming; Miss Schuyler County Fair, Melissa Ervin of Rushville, Miss Okawville Fair, Kelsey Zapp of Nashville; Miss Montgomery County Fair, Shayla Grosenheider of Litchfield; Miss Vermillion County Fair, Amie Harvey of Danville.
The 56th Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant was held as part of the annual convention of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.
Over 3,500 county fair members and friends spent this past weekend selecting their entertainment and service needs for the 2015 county fair season.
