Abby Foster was Crowned 2016 Miss Illinois County Fair

Springfield, IL— Abby Foster, Miss Vermillion County Fair, was crowned by retiring Queen Sadie Gassmann. Foster is majoring in elementary education with a concentration in psychology at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Melanie Morris & Jeff Foster of Danville.

Peyton Gehrs was the First Runner-up. She is the Miss Madison County Fair. She is the daughter of Matt and Jill Gehrs of Highland.

Miss Adams County Fair Queen, Stephanie Dearwester was Second Runner-up. She is the daughter of Steve and Melissa Dearwester of Paloma. Miss Christian County, Molly Holthaus was Third Runner-up. Her parents are Bob and Sonda Holthaus of Pana.

Amy Loschen, Miss Ford County Fair, was named Fourth Runner-up. She is the daughter of Gary and Diane Loschen of Kempton.

Non-finalist competition awards were presented to Miss Tazewell County 4-H Fair Queen, Nicole Chambliss for best non-finalist Personal Interview competition; Miss Perry County Fair Queen, Callie Priebe for best non-finalist in Communication Skills; Miss Henry County Fair Queen, Danielle Strouss for best non-finalist Stage Presence competition; and for best non-finalist Beauty and Physique competition, Miss Williamson County Fair, Kelsey Lober.

The Ruby Crum Memorial Award for charm and enthusiasm known as the “Spark Plug Award” was presented to Miss Mercer County Fair Queen, Samantha Jones of Sherrard.
Others in the top fifteen finalists were: Miss Iroquois County Fair, Jordyn Basler of Milford; Miss Fulton County Fair, Courtney McCombs of Lewistown; Miss McHenry County Fair, Nora Brown of Woodstock; Miss Clark County Fair, Courtney Fraker of Marshall; Miss Christian County Fair, Molly Holthaus of Pana; Miss Lake County Fair, Bethani Jacobsen of Wauconda; Miss Pulaski County Fair, Samantha Steely of West Frankfort; Miss Richland County Fair, Carlea Pierce of Olney; Miss Georgetown Fair, Sierra Dicken of Westville; Miss Moultrie-Douglas County Fair, Gabrielle Uphoff of Sullivan; and Miss Marion County Fair, Karlie Nattier of Patoka.

The 57th Miss Illinois County Fair Queen Pageant was held as part of the annual convention of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs at the Crowne Plaza in Springfield.




Almost 3,000 county fair members and friends spent this past weekend selecting their entertainment and service needs for the 2016 county fair season.
